This is highly relevant to the scope of works required for the HBRC Stop Banks. As there was still a high risk of further flooding to local landowners, we rapidly (with one day’s notice) mobilised 14 staff, six excavators (20-35t), three bulldozers (D8-D51), five 45t ATDs, two compaction machines, as well as pumping equipment to undertake major dewatering, to quickly to achieve a temporary stop bank and move over 200,000m³ of river gravels and silts.
After early works were completed by traditional survey techniques, we were able to then utilise our GPS capabilities to speed up the final shaping process of the stopbank. This ensured we met the design heights and widths provided by the Engineer.
Fills were compacted and tested in house by Nuclear Densometer for quality assurance, and then independently tested to confirm compliance.
