With a strong background in Earthmoving, Hayden grew up in a machine-oriented family and developed a deep passion for the industry and all its facets.

Hayden Satherley
Managing Director

Hayden has a proud history within this industry, working with his father in Rawhiti Earthmovers for as long as he can remember, across all aspects of the company, until he co-founded HES Earthmoving in 2007 with Myrtle. Earthmoving solutions come naturally to Hayden and his ability to create a plan and execute this for our customers is second to none.

Myrtle Satherley
Managing Director

Myrtle co-founded HES Earthmoving in 2007 with Hayden and has responsibility for the office operations, encompassing finance, reporting, management and liaising with suppliers and customers.

Although Myrtle is based in our Waipukurau office on a day to day basis, she is just as comfortable getting out with the team and lending a hand when required. A great team environment is something that Myrtle values highly and she is well known for her generosity to others.

Damian Edwards
Logistics Manager

Working with trucks has always been the plan for Damian and he has been in the industry since 1992, branching out to owning his own business in 2005. Damian’s role with HES Earthmoving is to look after our fleet and drivers, along with ensuring equipment is moved efficiently and on time. His role has expanded over time to include Project Management as the HES Earthmoving operations have grown.

Bryan Meredith
Forestry Manager

Bryan has been working with HES Earthmoving since 2002 and manages our forestry division. His responsibilities include day to day management, health and safety and compliance.
Bryans experience, skills and knowledge cannot be understated as he has often been a catalyst for creating a solution for some difficult pieces of roading and other infrastructure construction. He has excellent leadership skills and is an integral part of the HES Earthmoving team.

Katie Reisima
Business Support Manager

A highly qualified business and marketing manager, Katie brings the benefit of seven years of experience in financial management, claims and accounting, working within the civils and transportation industries. The last two+ years have been spent with HES Earthmoving, where she is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all claims and financial reporting to clients, as well as being involved in business development (e.g. tendering and social media communications), IT troubleshooting and programme development. Having lived in Hawke’s Bay for 25 years, she brings a knowledge of local conditions, climate, and materials, and a local relationship network, which aid her in her role.

Callum Slavin
Quarries Manager

Callum is an A Grade Quarry Manager for the last 6 years. He comes from a background in Mining and Large-Scale Earthmoving in Australia. He is also the Chairman of the local Quarry Institute branch. Callum is available to chat about your rock requirements, testing and volume pricing, give him a call on 027 5427592

Trev Rowlands
Project Manager

Trevor (Trev) brings 20 years of experience in the earthmoving, civils and mining industries. Most of this time has been spent in the Hawke’s Bay Region (having been born and bred in Takapau), giving him an in-depth knowledge of local ground conditions, materials, consent requirements, and weather impacts on methodology and plant selection.

Trev is also an experienced Project Manager, having spent the last 18 years in management and supervisory positions, including the management of his own earthmoving, watersports/events, and agricultural businesses. He joined HES Earthmoving in 2013 and has since been involved in our delivery of numerous projects.
